Kitchen Design

The kitchen is based on a fantasy of an English larder incorporating cerused oak, Belgian bluestone floors, and no visible appliances except for a black enamel LaCanche stove.  Luxed up for Connecticut with large windows, a Calacatta Caldia backsplash & island, a limewashed hood, and Benjamin Moore White Dove in a hand painted high gloss finish.

living room design

The living room is dressed in applied panel molding with a heavy dramatic crown evoking prewar plasterwork.  The custom mantel was hand carved in Ireland and shipped across the seas.  The 1970s brass coffee table brings in some decadence.  Another favorite detail are the curtains which have a box pleated under layer and are hung on polished brass French poles made in New York.  It is all resting on a layered floor treatment of white hides over an oyster colored carpet

Dining Room Design

For the dining room the owner’s love of blue green is once again on display in a deep saturated warm navy, Benjamin Moore’s “Hidden Sapphire”, with monochromatic drapery fabric from Manuel Canovas. An art deco inspired dining table is complemented by a mid century-style Italian chandelier in brass with blue accents.  The louie chairs wear bottle green leather seats with the backs alternating in peacock silk and fortuny camo, camouflage being a favorite pattern of the owner.  The floors are herringbone white oak
