Wilton Riding Club, Wilton, Connecticut

Tucked into the pastoral hills of northern Wilton, the Wilton Riding Club Paddle Hut had gone untouched for decades—until its volunteer-run membership decided it was time for a thoughtful refresh. Working alongside a longstanding client who led the club committee, we reimagined the timber-frame clubhouse as an intimate gathering space that honors both its natural surroundings and the community it serves. Wood harvested from the property's own forest was incorporated throughout—from a tree stump table hewn by the grounds caretaker to console tables crafted from felled trees. Original sofas were preserved and reupholstered in a durable outdoor plaid, honoring the club's ethos of stewardship.

A collaborative design process that honored member contributions and collective vision.

Materials sourced directly from the land root the interiors in their pastoral setting.

Thoughtful preservation meets fresh updates in a space designed to feel like a friend's living room.

A new chapter for a beloved community gathering place—intimate, casual, and inviting.
